After last week’s round of upsets, the Week 4 Consensus Rankings features five new teams. Paul VI (Va.) gets the highest ranking after defeating Gonzaga (D.C.) last week, while Loyola-Blakefield (Md.) moves to No. 21. Other new teams include Upper Dublin (Pa.), Summit (N.J.) and Lincoln-Sudbury (Mass.).
Jake Taylor came up big as the Raiders took on playoff teams from Colorado and Missouri last week. Among this week’s Honorable Mentions are players from Paul VI (Va.), Strath Haven (Pa.), Northwest Guilford (N.C.), Loyola-Blakefield (Md.), Hoggard (N.C.), Upper Dublin (Pa.), Palos Verdes (Calif.), Archbishop Carroll (Pa.), Immokalee (Fla.), Bullis (Md.) and McDonogh (Md.).
John Jay-Cross River (N.Y.) makes the rankings this week, making them the only new team. There was quite a bit of shuffling in the Week 3 Consensus Rankings this week.
It’s been two weeks since the last Consensus Rankings and quite a lot has changed. Gonzaga (D.C.), Manhasset (N.Y.) and Smithtown West (N.Y.) all jump into the Top 30 after not being ranked previously.
Jack Myers became the all-time leading scorer for the District of Columbia last week, in addition to helping his team to a win over a national Top 10 team. This week’s Honorable Mentions hail from Bullis (Md.), Darien (Conn.), La Salle College (Pa.), Severn School (Md.), Boys’ Latin (Md.), Seton Hall Prep (N.J.), St. Edwards (Fla.), Syosset (N.Y.), Malvern Prep (Pa.), Severna Park (Md.) and Grayslake North (Ill.).
The early high school lacrosse season proved turbulent for a number of teams in last week’s Consensus Rankings. Three new teams make their appearance in this week’s ranking: St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Va.), St. Mary’s (Md.) and St. John’s (D.C.).
Culver Academy (Ind.) was chosen as the No. 1 team by two of the three national polls during the preseason, giving them the slight edge over defending Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) A Conference champion Calvert Hall (Md.) as the top team in the nation.

Connor Shellenberger spent the last two seasons playing at St. Anne’s-Belfield (Charlottesville, Va.) where he became one of only six players in school history to score 100 points in a season.
