Jimmy Conner, a 2021 defenseman from Sherwood (Md.) has made a verbal commitment to play Division II lacrosse with Tampa.
Conner earned is a three-year varsity starter and has helped Sherwood to the state regionals each year. He was selected First Team All-Division. He also earned He is also a starting defenseman on the Sherwood hockey team and was a member of the Montgomery County championship team as a freshman.
“University of Tampa is ranked No. 7 best value for business school. Their lacrosse program is consistently in the Top 10 in the country. They were ranked 3rd in the country before COVID hit with an 8-0 record,” Conner said. “The campus is beautiful and the weather is great. What’s not to like about playing lacrosse in January in shorts!”
Conner plays club lacrosse with Zingos Lacrosse Club. He was also considering Delaware, and Lenior Rhyne.
“Patience, patience, patience…don’t ever give up,” Conner said of his top takeaway from his recruiting process. “Try not to let the pressure get to you. Just play your game and work hard!”
Conner is the second player reported to LaxRecords.com to have committed to Tampa.
