Nathaniel Hayes, a 2021 defenseman from St. John’s Catholic Prep has made a verbal commitment to play Division III lacrosse with Cairn University.
The defenseman has 156 career ground balls.
“It was a great opportunity to be apart of the school’s legacy by becoming a part of the team in their first years. As well as being surrounded by Christian Values,” Hayes said. “They have a great Pastoral Ministry program and I think it will set me on the right path to becoming a pastor.”
Hayes plays club lacrosse with MDX Revolution. He was also considering Alderson Broaddus University, and La Roche.
“Find a place where you don’t have to sacrifice anything to go there. Find a place that wants you,” Hayes said of his top takeaway from his recruiting process. “It’s great way to play for those who can’t. From a small town in West Virginia where lacrosse isn’t huge to getting an opportunity to fulfill my dream. All for the glory of God”
Hayes is the first player reported to LaxRecords.com to have committed to Cairn University.
