The face-off specialist won 67.9 percent of his faceoff opportunities after his freshman season in 2019. Kraske went 125-for-184 during the 2019 season.
“My dream has always been to go play on the highest level and on the biggest stage. The Ohio State University has a great college atmosphere, and the brotherhood is like no other,” Kraske said. “I’ve also never been to Ohio and I wanted to live in a place that I’ve never been before so I look forward to that Ohio lifestyle. Coach Myers believes in me and has a plan for me there. I’m excited to develop into a better student-athlete over those four years.”
Kraske plays club lacrosse with Team 91 Carolina. He was also considering Johns Hopkins, Harvard and Rutgers.
The 6-foot, 207-pound face-off man earned First Team All-Conference honors after his freshman season and followed up with another spot on the first team last year. honors last season. He also earned Trianglelax.com Player of the Week honors.
“Don’t rush yourself, this decision is for four of the most important years of your life,” Kraske said of his top takeaway from his recruiting process. “So take your time, pick the coaches’ brains and learn about the college before you make a decision.”
Kraske is the fifth player reported to LaxRecords.com to have committed to Ohio State. He is the second player from North Carolina to join Ohio State’s 2022 recruiting class. Tate Jones from Middle Creek (N.C.) is also committed to the Buckeyes.
“I’d like to thank my mom for driving me all over America for lacrosse tournaments,” Kraske added. “And also my dad for paying for my Lacrosse fees. Without my parents, I wouldn’t be where I am today!”
