"I choose NYIT as they offer me a chance to pursue my degree in physical therapy as well as allowing me to play lacrosse at a high-level D2 program in the greatest city in the world," Epstein said. "In addition, the program, school, and community just felt like the correct fit for me from the beginning."
Epstein plays club lacrosse with Florida Swashbucklers. He was also considering High Point, Tampa, and RIT.
Epstein earned Second Team All-District honors last season. He also earned First Team All-Conference in 2018 and 2019 and was Wellington’s 2019 Defensive Player of the Year.
"The process can be draining at times. My phone was constantly ringing with calls and texts from coaches from across the country. I would receive emails just the same," Epstein said of his top takeaway from his recruiting process. "Coaches from schools I had to look up to even find out where they were as I had no idea. The thing that I would pass along is to take your time and listen to not only the coaches but your family and most importantly your heart. Make the decision the best suits you and nobody else as this is the beginning of your future."
Epstein is the first player reported to LaxRecords.com to have committed to New York Tech.
“I want to first thank my family for supporting me along this ride and making this opportunity possible,” Epstein added. “I also want to thank all my coaches, teammates, and friends who have all helped me achieve my dream of playing college lacrosse.”
