Amato came up big in a highly-anticipated matchup between Ponte Vedra and Cardinal Mooney in the Moe’s Lacrosse Classic at Jacksonville University on Saturday.
The Lehigh commit scored six points as the Sharks defeated the Cougars 14-3.
Amato scored give goals and dished out one assist to help Ponte Vedra improve to 6-0 on the season.
The Sharks have a big week ahead of them as they travel to Maryland to take on Gilman (Md.) and Boys’ Latin (Md.).

Brooks Baro, McIntosh (Ga.)
The senior has helped the Chiefs to a 3-1 start this season by averaging 8 points per game. Baro scored a season-high 13 points in a win over Richmond Hill (Ga.), one day after scoring six goals in an 18-13 win over Kell (Ga.). Baro has yet to score less than five goals in any game this season.
Curran Rose, Dallas Jesuit (Texas)
The junior totaled six goals and two assists in two wins for the Rangers. Rose helped Dallas Jesuit to a 9-8 win over Westlake (Texas) with two goals and an assist on Feb. 22. He followed up with four goals and one assist in a 19-3 win over St. John's (Texas).
Alex Horowitz, Loyola-Los Angeles (Calif.)
Horowitz scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift the Cubs to a 13-12 win over Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.) last week. Horowitz scored three goals in the Cubs victory.
Logan Ip, Corona Del Mar (Calif.)
Ip led the Sea Kings with four goals in an 11-5 win over Servite (Calif.) last week.
Jackson Kane, St. Ignatius Prep (Calif.)
Kane totaled seven points on four assists and three goals as the Wildcats defeated Loyola-Los Angeles (Calif.) 16-6 in a battle of Top 10 teams.
Drew Pritts, Walton (Ga.)
Pritts scored the game-winning goal in double overtime to give Walton the 10-9 win over Allatoona (Ga.) on Saturday. Pritts scored four goals in the win.
Will Stahl, St. Margaret’s Episcopal (Calif.)
Stahl led the Tartans with six points in a season-opening win over San Marcos (Calif.). The sophomore scored five goals and one assist in a 17-3 victory.
Aiden Vincent, Jupiter (Fla.)
Vincent made 11 saves in a defensive battle with Oxbridge Academy (Fla.). His performance helped lead the Warriors to an 8-4 win.
