McGorry set the St. Joseph Collegiate (N.Y.) single-season scoring record for midfielders with 43 goals in 2019. He finished the year with 65 points.
The 2021 graduate enters his senior year with 115 career points on 74 goals and 41 assists.
McGorry earned All-Western New York honors last season. He also earned a spot on the Under Armour Upstate underclass team, Maverik Showtime All-Star, and All-Catholic league honors. McGorry plays club lacrosse with Sweetlax Upstate and Sweetlax National.
“It is a perfect program: a small school with great academics and great lacrosse," McGorry said. "The coaching staff and type of offense run by the school are top-notch. In addition, they showed a real interest in making me a Greyhound."
He was also considering Syracuse, Harvard, and Penn.
McGorry shared his top takeaway from his recruiting process.
"Listen to the coaches who call you and find out WHY they want you. You don't want to go to a school where you won't play or where they continually bring in transfers to take recruits spots," McGorry said. "Get feedback from your coaches as to who really is interested in you versus those that want to keep you in the loop in case one of their top recruits doesn't commit. Go to a school that WANTS you, a school that calls you early on September 1."
