Landon (Md.) Senior Justin Shockey Earns Player of the Week

Player of the Week

Justin Shockey, Landon (Md.)
The senior continued what he did all season and helped the Bears to a 21-0 season and the IAC championship last week.

Shockey won 31 of 45 faceoffs on the week in addition to scoring two goals and three assists in the semifinals and finals to help Landon to the championship.

The Navy commit won 10-of-17 faceoffs in a 14-7 win over St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Va.) in the semifinals. In the championship game against Top 10 team, Bullis (Md.), Shockey won 21- of 28 faceoffs as well as scoring two goals and two assists in the 18-7 win.

The senior won more than 80 percent of his faceoffs this season and is considered the No. 1 face off man in the country.

Honorable Mentions

Ryan Bannon, Hopkinton (Mass.)
The senior made 21 saves for in a 12-8 win over Medfield (Mass.) last week.

Hayden Frey, Lincoln-Sudbury (Mass.)
Frey had six points on three goals and three assists as Lincoln-Sudbury defeated Duxbury (Mass.) 9-1 last week. The win was the Warrriors 48th straight over in-state opponents.

Jacob Kelly, Calvert Hall (Md.)
Scored 3 Goals, 4 Assists in 11-10 overtime win against Boys’ Latin (Md.). Had the assist on the game-winning goal in overtime. Kelly added one goal and one assist in the 8-3 win over St. Paul’s that clinched the No. 1 seed for the MIAA A Conference playoffs.

John Kiracofe, St. John’s (D.C.)
Kiracofe made 20 saves for St. John’s in a 7-4 win over Gonzaga (D.C.) in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship. The win was the Cadets first-ever WCAC championship. The senior made more than 200 saves this season for the Cadets.

Kyle Laforge, Tyngsborough (Mass.)
With seven assists and two goals against Nashoba Regional (Mass.) on Thursday, Laforge from became the latest player to reach 400 career points. The senior has 89 points this season to give him exactly 400 for his career. The UMass-Lowell commit becomes the 12th-known player in state history to reach at 400 career points.

Luke Millican, Dallas Jesuit (Texas)
The senior was named the Texas High School Lacrosse League Tournament MVP after making 26 saves in the final two games and helping lead the Rangers to their second consecutive championship. Millican made 15 saves against Highland Park (Texas) on May 13, then followed it up with an 11-save outing in the championship game against Episcopal Dallas (Texas).

Evan Sibson, Absegami (N.J.)
The senior scored two goals against Timber Creek (N.J.) to surpass the 400-point mark. Sibson has 100 points this season to give him 401 for his career. This is the third-straight year Sibson has scored at least 100 points. The Chestnut Hill commit had a career high 115 points last season. Sibson is the sixth-known player in New Jersey to score at least 400 points in his career.
