LaxRecords.com continues its Looking Ahead series with our Connecticut High School Lacrosse Underclassmen to Watch. This is an early look at just some of the 2017 attackmen who were among their team’s leading scorers or made All-State as juniors.
This is not a recruiting list of top players, instead reflects some of the players who led or were among the team’s top scorers from last season and return in 2017.

Connecticut High School Lacrosse Attackmen To Watch
Jackson Appelt, New Canaan (Conn.), A, Virginia
Appelt capped his junior season with a three-goal game in the Class M state championship. He earned First Team All-State honors for his play last year and helped the Rams to a 19-4 season.
David Bibeau, Stonington (Pawcatuck, Conn.), A
In addition to earning Second Team All-State honors, Bibeau earned ECC All-Star honors last season.
Sean Black, Cheshire ( Conn.), A
Black was one of Cheshire’s leading scorers last season. The senior totaled 97 points on the strength of 64 assists and 33 goals.

Darian Cook, Joel Barlow (Redding, Conn.), A, UMass
Cook almost doubled his goal output last season, scoring 53 goals as a junior after scoring 27 as a sophomore. He scored 28 as a freshman. Last season, Cook had 97 points with 53 goals and 40 assists. The UMass commit has 168 career points.
Mike Hawkins, Glastonbury (Conn.), A, Colgate
Hawkins earned First Team All-State and All-Hartford Courant honors last season. The Colgate commit led Glastonbury in scoring in 2015.

Kevin Lindley, Darien (Conn.), A, Loyola
Lindley scored seven goals to lead the Blue Wave to a 17-3 win over Wilton (Conn.) in April. He scored three early goals in the state finals and capped the year with a Second Team All-State selection.
Jared Newall, St. Joseph (Trumbull, Conn.), A
Newall capped his junior year with four goals in the state championship game against Somers. He earned First team All-State honors. He also earned All-FCIAC All-East Second Team honors.
Christian Paley, Somers (Conn.), A, Hartford
Paley capped an impressive junior season with a stellar state championship performance. The Hartford commit scored eight goals in the Class S championship against St. Joseph-Trumbull (Trumbull, Conn.). He earned First Team All-state honors after amassing 149 points on 94 goals and 55 assists.
Mitch Savoca, Fairfield Prep (Fairfield, Conn.), A
Savoca scored five goals against Cheshire in the Class L quarterfinals. He was a First Team All-State choice at attack last season. He helped Fairfield Prep to a 17-4 record and an appearance in the Class L finals.
Alec Steinberg, Weston (Conn.), A
Steinberg totaled 74 points last season. The Second Team All-State selection scored 51 goals and added 23 assists, averaging 3.5 points per game. Sternberg earned All-SWC First Division honors.
