Baltimore, MD — Under Armour, Inc. (NYSE: UA) and Corrigan Sports Enterprises, Inc. announced Tuesday the rosters for the 2013 Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic®. Eighty-eight of the nation’s top boys and girls high school seniors have been selected to the sport’s highest honor and will play in the eighth annual Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic on Saturday, July 6 at Towson University’s Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson, MD.
Under Armour All-Americans are selected by a panel of lacrosse experts from Inside Lacrosse Magazine. The year-long selection process includes input from college and high school coaches from across the country as well as nominations from the public.
The selected high-school seniors will experience a weekend of events that begins on Thursday, July 4 and culminates with the Under Armour All-America Girls Classic on Saturday, July 6 at 5PM followed by the Boys Classic at 8PM. The Under Armour All-America Boys Classic will be showcased live on ESPNU for the eighth year.
The 2013 Under Armour All-America rosters are once again filled with unparalleled talent recognized by top NCAA Division I universities. The University of Maryland and Syracuse men’s lacrosse programs both have six incoming recruits from this year’s All-America roster. The University of Virginia’s women’s team led the nation with five incoming freshmen making the esteemed list. Also, the University of Southern California and Virginia Tech women’s programs signed their first ever Under Armour All-Americans.
At the high school level, the boys’ squad from Chaminade High School in Mineola, New York will send four of its players on the field with the All-America North team while the girls programs at McDonogh School in Owings Mills, MD had four seniors earn spots on the South roster. Additionally, new states are represented on this year’s boys roster as the sport of lacrosse continues to gain popularity across the nation. High schools in Nevada (Kieran Eissler/MidfieldHenderson, NV/Coronado) and Indianapolis (Zach Currier/Midfield/Peterborough, ON, Canada /Culver Academy) will be represented for the first time on the boys’ South roster.
The Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic also includes the Underclassmen tournament that will feature the top underclass boys and girls players from the classes of 2014-2016 from10 regions across the country. The three-day Underclassmen tournament culminates Sunday, July 7 with the girls and boys finals at 3:30PM on the fields surrounding Unitas Stadium.
